Another inspiring encounter, this time with Joe Charlo, an 83-year-old Dene Elder wanting to share his knowledge and culture with the following generations. In an essential process for cultural survival, he offers his wisdom, his techniques, songs and prayers, deeply rooted in his environment. In the same movement, the film captures the respectful relationship between Joe and his wife Judy. The editing was completed just a few days before Joe’s passing away, following a second coronary thrombosis. To this day, I remember his laughter, his exceptional strength and his contagious and youthful energy.
